Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp. will launch two phones, powered by Microsoft`s new Mango Windows software, around the local market Wednesday, simply because it seeks to be expanded its product portfolio to contest with Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co.
HTC, the world`s No.5 smartphone maker, and Microsoft want to jointly introduce in Taiwan the HTC TITAN as well as the HTC Radar, which areunveiled in London last month, reported by an HTC release.
The 4.7-inch TITAN includes a huge virtual keyboard allowing for quick typing and it facilitates cloud storage of documents.
With all the 3.8-inch HTC Radar, users can update on social support systemswithout switching applications or disrupting the flow of conversation.
In the UK, the high-end TITAN is priced at $470 euros (US$629/NT$19,177) as the mid-range Radar is tagged at $314 euros.
The values of the phones in Taiwan have yet to be announced.
The product or service launch notice came just days after HTC introduced its second Beats phone, the HTC Sensation XL, a 4.7-inch model that also includes Google`s Android software that has been enhanced audio technology from Beats Electronics.
Meanwhile, Samsung has chose to postpone the launch of that new Google phone, dubbed “Nexus Prime,” that wasscheduled for Oct. 11.

Microsoft is betting on the release of its new Windows mobile platform to regain ground inside growing smartphone market, that’s now covered with the Android plus the iOS operating systems.
Using the Market Intelligence and Consulting Institute (MIC), worldwide smartphone shipments will grow 35.8 percent year-on-year from 452 million units this year to 614 million units in 2012, using a compound annual rate of growth of 25.8 percent usually in the next five years.
Android will stay the greatest smartphone OS in 2012, taking about fifty percent share from the market, while iOS and Windows will are the cause of 19 percent and 13 percent, respectively, the MIC said.
